Submit Your Work
Pittsburgh Literary Magazine | Poetry & Fiction Submissions
Pulse Magazine is Pittsburgh's premier literary journal dedicated to publishing poetry, fiction, visual art, and multimedia from emerging writers and artists. We are actively seeking submissions from creators enrolled at Point Park University, as well as emerging writers throughout the Pittsburgh area.
Whether you're a student writer looking to publish your first poem, a photographer capturing Pittsburgh's urban landscape, or a filmmaker exploring creative narratives, we welcome your submissions. Our yearly submission window opens October 1st and closes January 31st.
Why submit to Pulse Magazine? As a Point Park University literary publication based in downtown Pittsburgh, we offer emerging writers a platform to share their voice with a growing audience of readers, fellow writers, and industry professionals. All accepted work receives author bylines and featured placement on our website.
We publish visual art & photography, dance videos, music (video or audio), poetry (text, video, or audio), and short stories & scripts. In our selection process, we value submissions that draw meaning from our world and the intricacies of our human experience. We love to see creators use the boundaries of their art form to bring their passions, interpretations, experiences, and messages to life. We seek to uplift voices that have been systematically ignored in our society, and we do not discriminate against race, sex, gender identification, sexual orientation, national origin, native language, religion, age, disability, marital status, pregnancy, citizenship, etc.
